Nakisha “Nikki” Evans is running for Democratic State Committee to ensure the Brooklyn Democratic Party delivers real results for Assembly District 43 — supporting expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and making New York more affordable for all.

A leader in the nonprofit and education & training sectors  in NYC , Nikki has built her career on solving real problems that affect everyday New Yorkers and  delivering results. Whether advocating for single parents returning to college or developing successful workforce training programs that  helped connect New Yorkers to quality jobs with liveable  wages, she understands how to make real progress on complex challenges and issues. She knows how to stay grounded — supporting neighborhood programs, mentoring emerging leaders, and advocating for policies and programs that expand access to affordable housing, quality education, economic opportunity, and safe, vibrant communities.

Nakisha’s passion for public service is rooted in her belief that strong communities are built through access to opportunity, inclusion, and “putting in the work”. 

She is committed to amplifying the voices of District 43 residents and ensuring the Brooklyn Democratic Party reflects the values and diversity of the communities it serves. She will work to strengthen the Party’s grassroots engagement with voters and its responsiveness to our local community members.
